According to a recent report by Data Darbar, a private market intelligence platform, the rapidly growing use of mobile devices and internet access in Pakistan has fueled a surge in app downloads, making the nation the fastest-growing app market in the world.
According to the report, Pakistanis downloaded 35.4% more apps in 2022 than they had the year before, demonstrating a growing demand for digital services and the sector’s potential for expansion. The results highlight the significance of ongoing investments in infrastructure and technology to serve Pakistan’s growing demand for digital services.
The growth rate in 2021 was 26.8%, and it significantly increased to 35.4% the following year, surpassing China, the second-fastest growing nation, by almost three times. Growth rates in Mexico, Indonesia, and India were all under 10%.
According to the report, Pakistan had 3.5 billion more downloads than any other market. Pakistan was ninth overall, up three spots from the previous year, and its citizens spent 161 billion hours using mobile apps in 2022, according to the report.
In terms of the quantity of outstanding active apps created by local publishers, it was further stated that Pakistan ranked second only to Indonesia.
Snapchat, WhatsApp Messenger, Capcut, and TikTok were the next most popularly downloaded apps, followed by WhatsApp Business. The most downloaded local app was Easypaisa, followed by Jazz, Jazz Cash, Zong, and Universal Remote TV.
